Name of Assignment:Proyecto de Intercambio Cultural | Cultural Exchange Project | Subject: Spanish II Facilitator/Teacher:Profe
Description of Work/Assignment: This was a project I did in Spanish in the first quarter. We had chosen a Spanish-speaking country to present in full Spanish. The presentation was about a tour we would take and why.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? The 21st Century Skill I choose for this is Global Awareness. This in its simplest form is demonstrating an understanding of the thinking, motivations, and actions of different cultures and countries, This is exactly what we did.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I think this assignment was extremely challenging, for this was my first time presenting in all Spanish. However, I’m quite proud of how I carried out this presentation and spoke as fluently as I could.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? Before I started this project I was not as confident in my ability to speak Spanish. Alas, I now am a bit more assured in my ability, for there was a lot of positive feedback!
What was most difficult about completing this task? It was quite difficult to decide what Spanish-speaking place I would ‘tour’. However, we settled in Puerto Rico. My partner also wasn’t very responsive so I finished it myself.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently? If I could start over I might try to get my partner to be a bit more responsive to the project, and try and push a bit more work on them. I feel this is reasonable because I finished it myself, doing all the research, making the presentation, and writing scripts.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? This is a bit similar to a project I did in Spanish last year. I also researched Puerto Rico, though at that time it was more on the culture and less on a tour.
How can you apply this to future learning? I can apply this by working with others. This is always a struggle in all group projects, making sure work is distributed evenly.
