Name of Assignment: Ice cream project
Subject: Chemistry
Facilitator/Teacher: Ms.S
Description of Work/Assignment:
For the Ice-cream lab we had to get together in groups of four and split up job responsibilities, these responsibilities were things that we had to bring in to make the ice cream. After splitting the jobs evenly we had to bring them in and make the ice cream, then eat it. Overall, it was a super fun lab and probably one I will remember the most.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why?
The 21st-century skill I used for this project was Interpersonal Skills, a quick summary of these skills is, demonstrating respect and positive interpersonal skills, and successfully working cooperatively as a member of a team. I think my team/group hit the nail on the head with this one. We all cooperatively worked together in our group by getting the materials and splitting the responsibility. We also demonstrated respect by promising to bring the stuff we were assigned to bring and then actually bring it.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?
For this assignment, I was most proud of probably just bring in in the items that I was told to bring in. as well as helping to make the ice cream. This was a very laid-back project that didn't require much effort.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?
I think I improved upon my 21st-century skill which in this case was Interpersonal Skills, not by letting down my group members and not failing to do my job/task correctly. which in this case was not very difficult but nonetheless still rewarding. The ice cream was really good.
What was most difficult about completing this task?
During this assignment, I think the most difficult thing was trying to stay patient while making the ice cream. It took almost forever and just sitting there as it was cooling was like watching paint dry.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently?
I really don't think I would start over. It doesn't seem necessary, this wasn't a project I would redo unless, of course, it was just for fun, I wouldn't mind making the ice cream again.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past and how can you apply this to future learning?
This relates to what I've done in the past by, I suppose seeing how different things mix together to make other things? In all honesty, we just made ice cream, It was just fun.
