Name of Assignment: Red Cross
Subject: Community engagement
Facilitator/Teacher: Ms.Ford
Description of Work/Assignment:
The Red Cross project was cut short and fell into an extra credit placeholder but it was very informative at the same time. We had to sign in to Red Cross and learn a bit about what they did, and how they were almost always notified when there was a house fire. Or how they put up smoke alarms and bed shakers in people's homes who couldn't afford them. Bed shakers are smoke alarms for deaf people.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why?
The 21st-century skill I used for this project was Global Awareness I chose this because this isn't a thing that only happens here International red cross is a thing. As well as these problems, fires and floods are becoming more prominent due to the current state of things. And there is just so much that these people can do to help out where they can.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?
For this assignment, I think it was mostly a learning experience with a couple of times that we were asked to share our thoughts. And I feel pretty proud that I contributed ideas and held a conversation with others about the topics we were on.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?
I think I improved upon my 21st-century skill which in this case was Global Awareness by, Learning more about what's happening everywhere. There's only so much that everyone really knows, and brainstorming and talking with others really opens your mind about things. It makes it easier to make decisions while knowing more than one side of the story.
What was most difficult about completing this task?
During this assignment, I think the most difficult thing to do was probably trying to hold all the information, we did learn a lot, and just take that with me I think made a bit of a difference in the person that I am.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently?
If I could start over I would definitely, write it all down at the time I didn't really think about that I was caught up in conversation and dissecting with others about their and my own outlook on things.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past and how can you apply this to future learning?
I can definitely use this information in the future or at least use the communication skills that I have learned and grown with.
