Name of Assignment: Build a Life Project Subject: Junior Seminar Facilitator/Teacher: Ms. Cassie
Description of Work/Assignment: This is a paper we started, and so far we have found our ‘first part-time job’. We did this by filling out a prop job application.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? The 21st Century Skill I choose for this is Financial, Economics, and Business Literacy. I chose this because I have semi-demonstrated an understanding of the business process, and the economic forces that drive today’s economy. I will also be prepared to make appropriate personal economic choices in future parts of this project.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I think this assignment is fairly self-explanatory, it’s a step-by-step on really how to get your life together. Or a building of a new fake life.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? Before I started this project I was uneducated on how to write a job application, and from what I know we will be learning a lot more about Economics and Financial decisions.
What was most difficult about completing this task? It was quite difficult to pick a part-time job I can do now, I ended up working in customer service at Macy's, because of the lack of information on the websites I used to find a job.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently? If I could start over I might pick a different job, this is because it was a bit difficult filling out the job application when the hiring page didn’t give a lot of info, ex: how much they paid an hour.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? This is a bit similar to other projects I have done that have to do with research and information found.
How can you apply this to future learning? I can apply this in the future by taking my gained knowledge about how to write a job application, and applying it when I need to write a job application.
